Adobe appoints CredRef to deliver a revolution in video-based customer advocacy

Dynamic, interactive platform redefines the impact of third party endorsement.

London, 2 June 2009 - CredRef (The Credible Reference Company) today announced its partnership with Adobe Systems, which is transforming the way in which Adobe's customer references are developed and deployed. The new customer advocacy programme, based on the Credible Reference Company's proprietary technology, delivers an immediate, engaging experience for potential Adobe customers unlike any other on the market.

CredRef's approach to customer references is based around video footage of real customers discussing how Adobe solutions have helped their businesses excel. Not only is video-based content more engaging than traditional print case studies, but thanks to CredRef's proprietary technology, it can be easily stored, segmented and distributed. Adobe can then track and analyse who has watched which elements of the footage and adjust its sales approach accordingly.

"The Credible Reference Company is a young and agile organisation that understands how effective references can be and has developed a platform that exploits raw advocacy in a new way, providing tools that have the ability to make a real impact on the bottom line," explains Andy Phillips, Senior PR Manager for Adobe Northern Europe. "The beauty of the platform is its flexibility. We can slice content according to business need, industry sector or technology requirements for example and then provide a customised link for potential leads to explore and interact first hand with our own customers. We are now living in the YouTube era and video is clearly the most compelling way of getting and holding attention so it is a natural way for our customers to express their support for our solutions portfolio."

The process begins when a satisfied customer agrees to take part in the programme. CredRef's project management team mange the initial planning process then they deploy one of their professional production crews to film an interviews with key stakeholders. After editing and approval, this content is then available for the sales, marketing and PR teams to disseminate. It can easily be embedded in external websites, sales presentations or meshed with other content to provide a comprehensive overview of Adobe's solutions from independent customers at the coalface. The process can take as little as a matter of days, making it more rapid than many traditional print reference programmes.

"Third-party endorsement is the most powerful and influential part of any effective enterprise marketing campaign and The Credible Reference Company introduced us to a new approach which was unlike anything we have seen before," adds Mark Wheeler, Marketing Director for Adobe Northern Europe. "It has transformed the nature of what references can achieve from being a static and often reactive tool to one that can be part of the sales and demand generation process. It is intuitive, easy to use and instantaneous which gives it a quality of engagement that stands out from the competition."

"We founded CredRef to help companies provide the insight and assurance that buyers need but sales people alone struggle to give. We saw that traditional print-based case studies no longer seemed to produce the desired impact," concludes Michael Nagle, Managing Director, The Credible Reference Company. "Our experience with Adobe has proven that using video testimonials provides a customised, engaging and interactive experience while encouraging viewers to retain more information about the solutions available. We look forward to continuing to help Adobe make the most of its customer advocacy programme in the future."

Adobe and The Credible Reference Company are now integrating the customer advocacy programme with the Salesforce.com platform to provide an end-to-end view of the sales cycle and the advocacy programme's role within it.
