How much does it cost?
Costs depend very much on what you are looking to achieve but our entry level is £995 for a standard reference interview with 5 questions. More detailed and creative case studies with more than one interviewee, graphics and music cost from £2,450 to £3,450. Other styles of content are priced on receipt of a full brief.
We already have written case studies, why should I move to video?
With people looking to access information as quickly and easily as possible, video is the best way of offering insights from real people as soon as it is needed. Hearing from someone on video offers a real, honest and credible insight which cannot always be given by a written case study.
Can we upload our written documents to your platform?
Although video is our main medium, we still see a place for supporting written documents; these can be uploaded to our Media Centre and made available to viewers alongside your video.
How are CredRef different to other video production companies?
We are different to other video production companies as we have a wealth of experience in sales and marketing so
gain a full understanding of what you’re looking to achieve and produce content that will help you meet sales and
marketing objectives by asking the right questions. We provide video in formats that can be used in sales
presentations, websites, exhibitions, electronic direct mails, and online social networks whilst giving you the means to track
exactly where and when content is being viewed.
Who does the filming?
We have an in house production team who film, produce and edit your content.
Where will you be filming?
We like to film in our interviewee’s place of work so that they feel comfortable. This also allows us to show them in
their own environment, using the products discussed where possible.
What preparation and planning is involved?
We take you through a very simple but effective planning process from understanding your key sales and marketing
objectives to preparing your customer so that we produce the right content.
How much of my time will be needed?
Before the filming day, we will require input from your sales, marketing and PR team members who will be using the final video
content to ensure that we understand your future plans and marketing objectives, allowing us to ask the right questions. This can
take place in a short strategy meeting or by telephone. Time spent during the planning stage can save hours in the long run.
In terms of your interviewees, this can vary but we generally require no more than one hour of their time.
How do you ensure we get the right content?
By understanding your sales and marketing objectives, we plan questions that will provide you with useful answers;
helping you best communicate your messages. We also brief your customers so they fully understand what we are
looking for.
Who will brief my customers?
Our Project Managers will brief your customers so that they understand what is required from them on the day and
have the set of questions well in advance allowing them to plan what they’d like to say.
What’s in it for my customers?
This is a chance for your customers to have their say about their experience of working with you and help their peers
make more informed buying decisions in future. We can also provide them with content for their own website so that
they can promote the way in which they are working with you.
My customer is overseas, can we still use them?
We have experience of travelling overseas to interview customers; we will simply charge you the exact travel costs
incurred.
We need content within a week, can you do that?
We have the means to films and produce content within a matter of days; this is simply dependent on the availability of
your customer.
Who will own the content?
Any content that we produce for you is your intellectual property. This will be stored in our Media Centre from where
you can download and share content as you wish.
Where can I use the content?
Your content can be used wherever it works for you, be it on your website, sent out as links in electronic direct mails, in
PowerPoint presentations, on mobile devices, on DVD and on screens at exhibitions. Simply let us know what you need
and we will provide it for you.
Can I use the content offline?
Every piece of content will be available for you download from our Media Centre in the format of your choice so that
you can easily use it offline as and when you need to.
Can we just use small sections of video where we need to?
Every piece of content is segmented so that you can use video in a targeted way so viewers only see exactly what is
relevant to them.
Do I need to improve my website for the video to stream quickly?
All content is stored in our Media Centre and hosted by us so you will not have to worry about increasing bandwidth to
stream video through your own website.
What format will the video be delivered in?
We can deliver content in whichever format you require but generally we produce video as Adobe Flash files.
Will you provide us with any written material?
We can produce a PDF written transcript of each piece of video content so that you can easily access a bank of quotes from
your customers for sales, PR and marketing activity.
We have existing video content; can we add this to your platform?
You can easily upload your existing video content to our Media Centre; this can then be segmented and shared as you
wish.
How do we track where and when our content is being viewed?
When you share content, you create a tracking reference and will then receive reports every time it is viewed, so that
you can understand when, which sections and how many times your prospects have viewed your video.
Can I update content?
Once you have produced a video, we can revisit your customers further down the line to update the story, track the
progress they have made and highlight any new ROI they have experienced from working with you.
How is content approved? Will I be able to make changes?
Each piece of video produced is given to you for approval before we forward it to your client to approve themselves. At
this point you can make changes to anything hat you are unhappy with, although we do not edit interviewee’s
responses as we focus on providing honest and credible content.
Will you help us deal with any legal aspects?
Some companies require interviewees to give legal authorisation for them to use content as they wish – if this applies
to you, we will deal with this on your behalf.
How much of my time is needed ahead of the interview?
If you are coming to us you need to arrive 15 minutes before the agreed time so that we can get you set up and
relaxed, interviews normally take between half an hour and an hour of your time. If we are coming to your offices to
film we will generally arrive an hour before to set up, again we will then need between half an hour and an hour.

Where is the best place to film?
There are some general rules in terms of noise and interference but the location also depends on the type of case
study/reference we are producing as to the look and feel. In general a quiet room away from the main office
(Boardroom/Side office) with a plain background.
I have never been in front of a camera before, what should I expect?

How should I present myself?
Most importantly, be yourself, if you usually dress in a suit then wear a suit, if you dress casually then dress casually.
There are some no no’s which are stripes and patterns and if we are green screening you then no blue or green.
Will I be able to prepare my answers in advance?
Yes we will get the questions to you ahead of time; however we do stress that our interviews are designed to be an
honest account of how you have found your supplier’s products and services so we do not encourage scripted
answers.
Do I have to remember all of my answers word for word?
No we will only ask one question at a time and if you slip up we will go again until you are happy, there is no pressure.
Will the content be edited?
No, our references and case studies are an honest account of how you have found your supplier’s products and
services, warts and all.
Will I be given the opportunity make changes to my interview?
If there is a specific piece of content you are not happy with we will of course remove it.
Where will my video be used?
Your video may be used in a number of ways depending on your supplier’s brief, but it is generally used by the Sales,
Marketing and PR teams to attract and win new business such as on their website, at exhibitions, in sales presentations,
electronic direct mail campaigns etc.
Can my company also use the content?
Of course, we will always give you any content you would like and you in turn can embed this onto your own website.
We can also give you the option on the day of filming to record an intro specifically for yourselves.
Can I hear from other people who have been an advocate?

My Communications Department has reservations, can you help?
Yes, we can speak to them and discuss any concerns they may have regarding brand messaging, legal issues. We have
dealt with this in the past and have always overcome the concerns.
Why should I take part?
best way to explain this is to put yourself in a purchasing situation, when you were in that position would it have
helped you to have heard from one of your peers who had already been through the same purchasing and
implementation process and was able to give you the assurance you needed, warts and all as opposed to the sales
person alone, who very often has little or no experience of the products they are selling? On this basis we feel that by
being involved in sharing that information we can help all buyers make an informed decision and therefore a better
outcome for their company. Our feedback from our clients' customers is also positive as they feel that their supplier
actually values their custom and continues to build on their relationship. On top of that, you will also have the
opportunity to have a piece of video content to use to promote your own company.
